When first asked myself this question, I began a quest that left me frustrated and bewildered. There are too many options! This article serves to demystify what kind of water you should drink. As a health coach, I’m always asked, “What kind of water should I drink? Is my water filter adequate? Is tap water ok? Should I only drink alkaline water?” This issue has become increasingly complex.Pure water is a type of “whole food.” Like other whole foods, when it is tampered with, water loses most of its precious healing properties. Water is tampered with any time one adds anything to it, filters it using anything except carbon, spins it, alkalizes it, or does other things to it. All of these manipulations tend to ruin it, rendering it less healthy and hydrating. To clarify all the confusion, I’ve listed many different types of water or ways in which it can be tampered.

Alkaline water has high pH levels. Many experts contend that a high-alkaline diet will benefit your health by lowering the acidity in your body. You can find alkaline water by determining its pH level. If it has a pH level of 7 or above, it is officially alkaline water.
Advocates for alkaline water claim that this type of water can prolong life and prevent disease. And, you’ll find no negative side effects of drinking alkaline water.

Toxins are the number one cause of aging. They are often a result of poor diet, pollution, and stress. Toxins can build up in your body causing cell damage that leads to premature aging. The best way to fight toxins and detoxify your body is with antioxidants. And it’s as easy as drinking antioxidant-rich alkaline water.

- Much like a plant needs water to grow, so does hair. Water is a key ingredient that supports vitamins, which contribute to your hair growth.
- Believe it or not, but water makes up almost 25% of the weight of a single strand of hair. Drinking at least two liters of water a day will help the strength of your hair, increasing growth.
- Dehydration immediately halts hair growth. As previously stated, our hair needs moisture (preferably soft water for your hair). When it doesn’t have the moisture it needs, your hair ends will split or become brittle. This makes it difficult for hair to grow. It is possible for one’s hair to stop growing completely if you’re not drinking enough water.
- Drinking water also triggers the energy that is transmitted at the scalp that runs to your hair’s end. When the roots are hydrated, this will eliminate problems like dandruff.
